Catherine She lingered in a coma for three years after unsuccessfully committing suicide. In the space between sleep and death she created a world for herself, free from the pain that had haunted her life. Perchance to Dream is the story of that world after she dies.

Rin Rin was born in the moment of Catherine's death, into the body that Catherine left behind. Although she is haunted by Catherine's memories, Rin is an unique individual.

Edward Edward, called Smee by Catherine, takes over the Captaincy of the Pirates from Hook. He is the first person Rin meets after she is "born."

Chieftess She is the leader of the Indians, who live on the southern shore of Pirate's Bay. Rin is strangely drawn to their village. The Chieftess explains that without Catherine, it is only a matter of time before the island crumbles into the sea.

Shaman She warns Rin that the new-found freedom of the island has a price. Without Catherine to control them, some of the characters will run wild, and hasten the destruction of the island.

Warrior She explains that Rin has been marked by the island, and that her flesh will feel it dying. If Rin is able to keep the balance of the land, she may prolong the life of all.

Catherine's Memories They are the incarnation of the memories of the island that Catherine left behind when she died. They burst free from Rin's head and took over her shadow. They know many secrets.

Wendy Wendi is sick of getting left behind at the tree house when Peter and the Boys go adventuring. She's sick of Catherine monoploizing Peter's attention. Now that Catherine's gone, Wendi has some plans. Those mersluts had better watch out.

Cheshire Cat The Cheshier Cat is a big fat ball of crazy. She loves mischief and munchies, and has a soft spot for Rin.

Red Queen Rin unfortunatly shows up in Wonderland with the bad news about Catherine in the middle of the Queen's tea. The only thing the Queen takes more seriously than her tea are executions.

Alice Alice has always been on the Queen's bad side. After Wonderland gets news of Catherine's death, Alice stages a bloody coup to take over the kingdom. Wonderland will never be the same.

The White Rabbit The White Rabbit has never listened to anyone else, so Catherine's death hasn't made much difference to him. Except that now he has Rin in his sights...

Hook He captained the Jolly Roger for years for Catherine's pleasure. When she died, he took a well-deserved retirement.
