What are 2D Comics?

2D Comics represent the ongoing attempts at creative collaboration between Pancha and Elena Diaz

We chose the name 2D Comics to encompass all the many stories we want to tell— all the various genres and visual and narrative styles. Our premier story was Perchance to Dream, about the dream world created by a girl in a coma, and how that dream world fares when the girl dies. The second story was Single Vampire, a story about trying to connect in the big city. Our third story was The Girl with Golden Hair, a fairy tale about the price of magical gifts. And our fourth story is Iceheart, a dark fairy tale of love, betrayal, and adventure. Iceheart is serialized at Girlamatic.

Elena and I grew up with comics. My dad introduced me to Nausicaa and ElfQuest, and from there my love for comics blossomed. I read ElfQuest to Elena as a bedtime story, and she too was hooked. We talked about having a comic of our own one day, but it seemed so daunting and far off. Then I turned my focus to writing, Elena to art and one day (with the proper inspiration), we realized that we had the making of a damn fine collaboration.
